Whether you’re an aspiring farmer or just looking for a way to get involved in the food system, urban farming can help you turn your passion into a viable and sustainable career. Our programs provide young people with hands-on training and mentorship in all aspects of urban agriculture, including planning, soil preparation, seed starting, plant care, pest management, marketing, and business development. Our expert instructors will guide you through the process of starting your own urban farm, from selecting the right site to securing funding and finding customers. In addition to our training program, we offer a supportive community of like-minded young urban farmers. Our network provides opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, collaboration, and networking, as well as access to valuable resources, such as shared equipment and supplies.

Our Discovery

Urban farming has created an unavoidable local food solution to the forever growing populations that many urban areas are facing. Making sure that there is food resiliency to creating inclusive environment that humans and food can coexist together, while transforming the concrete jungle green and establishing a connection to nature for urban dwellers to reviving the bond people have with food, urban farming has the potential to transform the urban space we live in, and to empower every individual with the tools for action to make our future of producing food a more sustainable and equitable one.

Our Mission

Provides residents of Urban areas with economic options in the farming sector in order to boost job creation, create agripreneurial opportunities, and lessen the impact on food security and food resilience. To open doors and strengthen local food economies, we have pledged to create, link, and build an urban food ecosystem.

The Green Urban Farms was established with the conviction that, when contrasted to conventional large-scale commercial farming, localized food systems may increase value for farmers, agro-processors, and communities while lowering the environmental cost of food.

We want to improve local economies while enabling profitable and ecological farming in inner cities.

Our goal is to establish ourselves as South Africa’s premier social impact farming venture.
